Revlon Colorburst Lipstick W/ Swatches

I'm sure by now everyone's heard of the new ColorBurst lipstick.
I managed to get Baby Pink and the very popular Soft Nude (last one at my store =D, I'm really excited for this one)
I'm always a sucker for packaging, and I love the design of the lipsticks. They look really chic.

Baby Pink and Soft Nude

Baby pink is a light, well baby pink color. Soft nude looks tannish in the tube, but is actually a bit peach when swatched. the consistency is creamy and staying power is great. I haven't actually worn Soft Nude yet, since I actually got it after Baby Pink.

Here's some swatches of me wearing Baby Pink on the lips:

As you can see, the color sadly didn't show up that great. (I'm still using my stupid iPhone as a camera. If you guys click on the picture you can see the color better.)
But in real life the pink is really vibrant. So, I can say that so far, Love. So, do I really need Mac's Viva Gaga?

And I'm debating if I should get Crimson (red) or not...

Have you guys tried them yet?

Maybelline Moisture Extreme Lipcolor W/ Swatches

 Maybelline describe it as:
Active power of a lip balm provides deep moisturization for voluptuous lips drenched in color.

These leave my lips so freakin' dry! I know they're supposed to be moisturizing, and don't get me wrong, they glide on like a dream. BUT, after I've worn them for a bit, my before-application supple lips have become a dried out sand dune. I purchased it in Nude Bush, Sugar Plum Ice, and Born With It. Nude Blush is a little pointless since it's so close to my natural lip color, and Sugar Plum Ice is too frosty.

Left to right: Sugar Plum Ice, Nude Blush, Born With It

Today I tried to wear this lipstick for the 5th time, hoping something magical would happen and maybe my lips wouldn't dry. NO AVAIL!

A plus side?
These lipsticks smell soooo damn good.
It doesn't have that.. lipstick smell, it smells fruity and ah-may-zing. I could sniff em' all day. It's enough to make me keep trying to use these.

Anyone else tried them... and liked them?

Rant: Drugstore Foundation

Yesterday I was perusing the aisles of Rite-Aid in the search of the newly-hyped Revlon PhotoReady Foundation. Standing in front of the Revlon display, I became frustrated yet again with the thought of...

HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW WHAT SHADE I AM?!!!

Drugstore foundation's most common failure is lack of tester bottles. The best I can do is hold it up to my face and run rampant around the store trying to find a mirror. Even that doesn't help. I ALWAYS end up with the wrong shade, hence the reason why I always mix my drugstore foundations.

So there I was, desperate to try Revlon's PhotoReady, but clueless on which one to buy. Even though Walgreens and Rite Aid have makeup guarantees (meaning if you try it and don't like it you can still return) I'm one of THOSE people who cower from guilt and can never bring myself to return a used item. I ended up just grabbing a bottle in Natural Beige only to come home and find the colors dramatically different. Sigh. So I'll have to wait until they get nude back in stock to exchange my (unopened) bottle of Natural Beige.

Have you guys been through this? Are you able to easily find your shade?

First Post! Review: Jesse's Girl Bejeweled Eyeshadow Quad & Swatches

I decided not to make my first post boring, so I'm going straight to a review.

I just got in my Jesse's Girl package. Shipping was super fast and I've been wanting to try these every since I saw them on YouTube =D. Rite Aids in my state don't sell the brand. Get em' at Jessesgirlcosmetics.com

I ordered all four Bejeweled quads for $17 and then threw in an eyeshadow for free shipping (over $20).
My swatches are over Benefit's creaseless cream shadow in Recess, yeah I'm not about to waste my UDPP. They're not that good because I was in a hurry. Colors are much more vibrant in real life.

 Palette 1
Palette 2- My favorite, and the reason I made the order
Palette 3
Palette 4

I really like em'. Yeah, I was drawn in by the pretty jeweled packaging, but the shadows themselves are well pigmented and super freakin' pretty.Well ... They're... the SH*T.

Here's the eyeshadow I got with a swatch. The shadow is ginormous, like the size of a blush, and so pretty. And look at how many freakin' eye dust samples they sent me! It's basically every color they make!

Yeah, Jesse's Girl, I kind of love you.

Has anyone tried these? I'd love to hear what you think =)
