Merry Christmas! && A few things up for sale

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!

Surprised to hear from me?

Yes, it's been a few months since you've read any posts from me, but now is as good a time as ever for me a make a meek comeback ;).

Truth be told, I stopped blogging because I moved out of my parent's house and into my own apartment downtown. As confident as I was that I would catch the blogging bug again, it just never happened. And another thing, I have yet to install internet in my apartment. Believe me, blogging is really hard when you don't have a wifi connection. After I moved out, I was sure that my next post would be of my new apartment, but it just never happened! My tiny studio always seems unfinished, and with a new job and all, I've been on a temporary hiatus.

Well, I had been receiving emails for awhile now inquiring about my blog sale that I had promised eons ago. Imagine how difficult it is to conduct a blog sale when all of my things are at my parent's house, AND I have no internet. Well, it's Christmas after all, and I clumsily took some candid shots of a FEW items while I'm at my parent's. These barely make a dent into the hoard I've been trying to diminish, but I figure now was a good as time as any. Forgive me for the horrible iPhone photos.

I'm sticking to only a few products like limited editions because I have to take off!

Ground rules:
1. First come first serve. Post a comment with what you want && your paypal address and I'll invoice you the total cost (excluding any items that someone has already claimed before you).
2. You must pay within 24 hours upon acceptance of invoice (please ;) ).
3. Shipping is $3, 50 cents per additional item. Max $7. Canada: Shipping is $4, 50 cents per additional item. I'm trying not to do international sales unless you're really desperate, just let me know and I'll find out the price of shipping.
4. I'll be shipping to your paypal address unless you say otherwise when making a payment!
5. No returns sorry! I'll package everything well, but I'm not responsible for lost or damaged packages!

Granted, I'll be operating from my phone's 3g and email, so please be patient. Either that or the starbucks across from my apartment. (Classy, I know).

Most items are brand new or only swatched/used a few times, any more and they'll be noted.

My Makeup Collection & Storage

I admit that I have a problem. Or should I say had. I am (was) way too obsessed with makeup. I felt the need to try every promising product I could get my grubby little hands on, and I admit, it became somewhat of a hoarding-esque problem. Granted, I don't have NEARLY as much makeup as a lot of other beauty bloggers and makeup enthusiasts, but I probably have far more than the average girl has (or should have). I figured I should show my organization, set up, and a general overview of my collection before I sell most of it. That's right. Look out for a blog sale. Most of my products barely see any usage and I'm starting to feel sorry for the poor things!

The messy area where I do my makeup/hair just about every morning. I cleaned it up for you guys, but usually there are products on every inch of that desk.

I'm not going into detail, because this is already a picture spam as is, so If you have any questions about any products you happen to catch a glimpse of, feel free to ask!

My hair products and combs/brushes, as well as additional storage for makeup products that I don't like and will never use (again).

On the left side of my desk/vanity is where I store my makeup and brushes. The storage unit is from Office Depot I believe.

The top of my storage:
I have all of my NYX shadows (doubled up) on an acrylic nail polish stand I bought from eBay.
My clean brushes are stored in 3 clear containers from Michaels with clear beads. The pink box holds my dirty brushes.
I also store my face moisturizers, primers, bb creams and makeup setting sprays on top.

Bronzers
There's actually several layers of product here...

Nars/MAC blushes, and MAC MSFS
I collected most of these over a two month period. I was on a MAC MSF/Blush frenzy. Truth be told, I only use about 2-3 of the MAC products.

Non-MAC blushes (aside from my MAC Blush palette), and a few highlighters.

Eyeshadow primers and cream shadows/bases

Single (Smaller) NARS, MAC, Victorias Secret, Rock and Republic, and Kat Von D Eyeshadows

All of my other single eyeshadows and mini quads
Most of the things in this drawer are drugstore products. This drawer is heavily neglected, and is evidence of my excessive hoarding =(.

Eyeliners, mascara, and brow tools

Lipsticks and random lip balms

Large random palettes

This is my random "crap" drawer, including my contacts and false lashes.

I ran out of storage space so I keep my Rock & Republic blushes in a box underneath.
Sad story, I used to be the proud owner of all 12 blushes, until I lost my favorite, All Nighter, during a drunken night at the local campus bar. This is why I no longer carry a makeup bag. BOO.

On to the right side of the drawers, which are deep. Here are all of my foundation, tinted moisturizers, concealers, and powders.YIKES.

Random drawer with cotton balls, eye makeup remover, and cosmetics bags.

Larger palettes and new items that I have yet to organize.

More palettes

Smaller palettes and quads and mineral eyeshadow and pigments

On top of my desk I have these two pencil organizers that I got from Target that I decided to store on their sides for my lipglosses. And, you always have to have lysol wipes on hand for spills and to keep clean surfaces!

And that's all folks. I really hope you ladies are interested in a blog sale because I need to really clear up some room! Hopefully I can get it up soon, even though summer term starts next week. Luckily I'm only taking 6 credits so it should be a breeze!

WHEW. This post has been a work in progress for awhile, because I was very tentative about posting this up. It's a bit embarrassing, and these posts are always so heavily scrutinized. Hopefully I'll be downsizing to the minimal amount of makeup, and I'll tell you guys why VERY soon. I've also seem to have lost my motivation to blog, as well as my interest in makeup. So, if this blog takes on a slightly different direction, please bear with me!

I'd love to see links to any posts you guys have about your makeup storage and collection! :3

March and April Birchboxes

Well, well, well, look who's back. I didn't foresee a two month hiatus, it was very unexpected, I promise!

Shit Life happens.

HAH. I'm surprised I have any followers left! Thanks for sticking around guys, if I were you I would have abandoned me and my sporadic blogging behavior. Truth of the matter is, I'm not obsessed with makeup as I used to be (shocker). I'm really appreciating finding the perfect products and using those religiously. So yes, I will be holding a blog sale soon if anyone's interested!

Anyways, it seems like every post has an intro with why I haven't been blogging... but on to the real content!

A while (a long)) time ago, I posted a short article about Birchbox, a monthly subscription where you can try out deluxe sample sizes of random beauty products. Since I haven't been here for awhile, I wanted to share my (short and intitial) thoughts on the March and April boxes.

March:
Blow BlowUp Thickening Mist- I have yet to actually try this. It looks promising however
Befine Night Cream- It's rather thin to be considered a night cream. It's simply just OK. Decent enough moisturizing properties for me, but my skin isn't very dry either.
Pangea Organics lip balm- At first, I ABHORED this lip balm. That's because it smells like a hippie (herbal-ly). However, the balm itself works rather well, and it's huge, so you get a large amount. However, at this point, I believe my lips have become immune to its properties.
Pangea Organics facial scrub (just a wee packet)- I haven't used this yet.
I need to heal face mask- I haven't used this yet either, since I still have my Beauty Diary masks to work on!
A mascara spoolie of some sort- not much to say about this little tidbit.. It's a spoolie, and I've used it to unclump my mascara-ed lashes.

♥April:
Zoya nail polish in Dove (grey)
Zhena's Gypsy Tea (Italian Chamomile)
Suki Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser
Weleda Wild Rose Smoothing Facial lotion
LIV GRN Natural Eau de Parfum

Alright, I haven't actually tried any of these products, besides the Weleda facial lotion. Which is absolutely disgusting to me. I can't get past the scent. It's rose scented, but more like rose-urine scented. I can't bring myself to put this back on my face. I haven't gotten around to trying out the other products, but I wanted to show you ladies what was in the boxes!

But, my absolute favorite part of the April box were the plant seeds in honor of of Earth day. It's so cute and innovative. The seeds are in the card, and you just put the card in the soil and water. Presto, flowers.

My May Birchbox should be coming soon, it shipped out about a week and a half ago, but I will explore its contents with you when it arrives at my doorstep!

Quick Snap: Singing Hey Na Na Na Na Na Na

Here's a crappy quality photo of me so you guys know that I'm still alive and kicking. My iPhone can only do so much in crappy lighting. I'm so sad... I lost my iPod. I seriously LOST my iPod. As in, I have no idea where it is. My music is gone. *Sigh*. Well I've posted some songs I like below. I really urge you to listen to the below songs.( >       Δ      ~ )

 *Picture a la tumblr

My ugly doll. He actually has two sides to him. I wonder what makes ugly things so cute. He's (They've) just celebrated their third birthday. And boy is he (they?) excited! I have this strange rabid for all things cute. But then again, it's just a girl thing.
Isn't this ramen funny? I just HAD to show it. Soup for Sluts. It's "Cheap, Fast & Easy". I can't believe they sell this. I found it in the student store on campus. There were a few other silly ramen packages as well.
I've been obsessed with Pretty Little Liars since DAY 1. It's not even just the show, I pay attention a lot to the actresses' makeup and clothing. Their stylists are gods I tell you. I can relate to each of the character's style. I switch up my outfits a lot, and have dressed like all four of them at one time or another. Each character has such a unique individual look, I'm truly stunned by the work that their stylists do. It's all about the intricate details. Some people are getting exhausted over the storylines, but not me. I even take screen caps of makeup looks to try later ( '   3   ' ), ah I'm such a loser. I can relate mainly to Lucy Hale's character "Aria" because she's the most reflective of my personal style. All of my style and beauty icons seem to have similar body shapes, heights, and hair as I do... (Lucy Hale, Rachel Bilson, Mila Kunis), am I biased?
Did I mention I'm also in love with the guy that plays Mr. Ezra Fitz?
The term is over for me next Friday, so I'm excited to have a little more time, as well as more time for blogging! These silly little updates are a way for me to just share little bits and pieces of me and my days with you guys, as well as show that I haven't altogether forgotten this wee little blog. I'll be putting up a post with my Makeup collection/Storage soon, just because I'm interested in possibly selling 75% of it... tee hee

♥Yes. Coconut Records is basically just Jason Schwartzman. He was also in a band called Phantom Planet (They did the O.C. Theme song). Check out my other favorite songs from them: "West Coast" and "Nighttiming". I didn't want to post a video overkill on this entry....

"It's been awhile, how you've come back in style.. "

Neutrogena Healthy Skin Makeup: NARS Dupe?

I cant believe that I haven't reviewed this yet! I've owned Neutrogena's Healthy Skin foundation for about half a year now, after hearing that it's a dupe for NARS' Sheer Glow. I believe it's about $12-$14 depending on where you buy it, which is really cheap compared to NARS' Sheer Glow. They have a pretty good shade range, 12 shades total. I went ahead and bought two shades, 60 Natural Beige and 70 Fresh Beige. Natural Beige is supposedly a good match for NC30s and 70 for NC35-40. I really liked it when I FIRST got it, then not so much, now I'm back to loving it!

First things first, I'm sure everyone's curious to know how it compares to NARS' Sheer Glow. I mean, the claims are pretty outrageous right? Everyone loves Sheer Glow, how can Neutrogena even compare? Neutrogena's Healthy Skin Makeup gets some pretty mixed reviews, some people love it, some hate it (it has a 3.5 rating on MakeupAlley).

Neutrogena says:
"Finally, naturally beautiful coverage that takes your skin's health seriously. Neutrogena Healthy Skin® liquid makeup takes over where your skin care leaves off. Silky-light coverage glides on for a perfectly natural look, while the exclusive blend plus SPF 20 work together to visibly improve skin's luminosity, tone, and texture."

First downfall, Healthy Skin doesn't come with a pump, neither does Sheer Glow, but at least NARS sells a pump for it. This is a HUGE downfall because you have to be extra careful with the HS formulation, it spills out like a big girl's muffin top over skinny jeans. I'm serious. The big difference between the two foundation is HS is a lot runnier than SG. It has a thinner, more watery consistency. This has its good and bad sides. The thinner consistency feels lighter on the skin. Healthy Skin also has a light fragrance. I actually like the smell though, it's a pretty scent that makes my brush smell fresh (for reference, I use my ELF flat-top brush for it, the best method thus far).

But how do they look on the skin??

Surprisingly, they look relatively the same! They both give you a slightly dewy finish, with great coverage. The Healthy Skin can look a little bit more shiny, so I do use powder with it. Other then that, I understand why it's been called a "dupe". My only true gripe with it is the staying power. By the end of the day, it's faded a good amount. The longevity of the foundation is ok, but can't keep me looking flawless from morning to night, but then again, neither can Sheer Glow. (*Note: I don't use Healthy Skin enough to notice any change in "tone or texture" to my skin)

Here are the Healthy Skin foundations compared with the Sheer Glow counterparts:
Neutrogena Healthy Skin #60 Natural Beige, NARS Sheer Glow Punjab, HS #70 Fresh Beige, SG Stromboli

As you can see, Sheer Glow runs more yellow. I don't think that I would want to choose one foundation over the other, while they look very similar on the skin, I like that Healthy Skin feels lighter and smells better, but I also like that Sheer Glow runs more yellow. I guess I want the best of both worlds (>    A     <) ehehehe. Greedy pants.

Wow, it's been so long since I've done an actual review! I'm really sorry ladies! This term is kicking my butt! Three more weeks until my spring break starts!

Have any of you ladies tried Healthy Skin? Thoughts
